2023 Quality of Life Grants

Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of families impacted by brain and spinal cord tumors. We know that this can not happen alone and are excited to announce our 2023 Quality of Life grants to support the advancement of providing education and clinical interventions to institutions already dedicated to care and cure. The Quality of Life grants result from the immense support provided to CBTF by Licensing International which has donated over a million dollars in support of research.

The first grant will support the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in developing and implementing LIFTT: Learning & Integrating Friendship Tools Together for brain tumor patients and survivors. Finding and maintaining friends provides extra challenges for the brain tumor community.

The second grant will support Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation in developing and implementing a staff education program for their Pediatric Oncology Survivorship in Transition (POST) staff. As more information is gained about the late effects and needs of aging brain tumor survivors, providers need to know the resources and interventions available for the population.

We look forward to sharing their progress throughout the year.
