Kids Helping Kids Teen Assistance Fund
Funding for 2024 has been distributed and applications are no longer being accepted. Please contact Regina Karchner at rkarchner@cbtf.org with questions or information on additional financial resources.
The Teen Assistance Fund is a program developed in partnership with Kids Helping Kids Inc. and Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF). The program provides kids and teens (ages 8-18) impacted by a brain or spinal tumor an opportunity to apply for something, an item or experience, that will benefit their emotional well-being to help them get through a challenging time.
Examples of items you may apply for include: art materials, headphones, health, beauty and self care products, home exercise equipment, yoga classes and gym membership, adaptive school equipment (text to voice, iPad etc.), video game consoles or adaptive gaming equipment.
Some examples of experiences you may apply for include: passes or tickets to water park, adventure course etc., party with friends (pizza, bowling, movies etc.), weekend with family. Funds are also available to assist with more expensive medical needs (items over $500+ that may include wheelchair, walker, etc.) and adaptive sports equipment.
Funds may not completely cover the more expensive items, but CBTF will work with the family to assist in locating other resources when necessary. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and granted by CBTF Teen Leaders, a group of teen survivors who volunteer their time as mentors and advocates.
