CELEBRATING 35 YEARS OF HOPE AND PROGRESS
A Legacy of Compassion
For 35 years, the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) has been at the forefront of battling childhood brain tumors. Since our inception in 1988, we have worked tirelessly to provide support, raise awareness, and fund groundbreaking research to improve the lives of children and families affected by these devastating conditions. This year, as we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we invite you to join us in commemorating this milestone and contributing to our mission of hope, healing, and progress. CBTF’s journey began with a vision to offer hope to families facing the unimaginable challenge of childhood brain tumors. Over the past three and a half decades, we have made significant strides in improving the lives of these young warriors and their families. Our achievements include:
Research Funding
Patient Support
Advocacy & Awareness
CBTF has funded innovative research projects that have advanced our understanding of childhood brain tumors, leading to more effective treatments and improved outcomes.
We have provided invaluable support to thousands of children and their families through our patient assistance programs, counseling services, and educational resources.
CBTF has been a tireless advocate for childhood brain tumor awareness, driving policy changes and raising public awareness about the unique challenges faced by these young patients.

Our Impact
CBTF has impacted the lives of countless individuals and families since 1988. For over 35 years, our dedicated efforts have created a supportive community where children with brain tumors, survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals can find solace, understanding, and resources. CBTF’s commitment to providing a safe space for connection and support has not only improved the quality of life for those directly affected by brain tumors but has also raised awareness about the broader impact of such conditions. By offering valuable insights, guidance, and a sense of belonging, CBTF has played a pivotal role in shaping a brighter future for those facing the challenges of pediatric brain tumors.
The world looked a lot different in 1988. This is especially true when it comes to accessing information quickly. There was no internet or social media. For a group of parents and medical professionals in the New York area, this lack of information and inability to find others going through the brain tumor journey left people feeling more isolated and unable to determine the next steps for their children who were facing devastating treatment choices which would forever change who they were. Even the doctors expressed their fear of the treatment options.
This brave group of change makers united to form the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation to ensure no family would travel this journey alone and everyone would have access to the most accurate and up-to-date medical information.
